In June 2020, Uncle Andy survived a massive stroke that changed everything. After multiple brain surgeries and months in rehabilitation, he was moved into assisted living, where he required around-the-clock care. In a quiet hallway conversation about selling his belongings just to afford therapy, a promise was made: we would find another way.
A few months later, Sophie sat on the couch beside Alex — Andy’s beloved dog, who she was fostering during his recovery. Alex wore a simple, inexpensive bandana. And in that moment, a thought became a spark: What if we made bandanas to help raise money for Andy’s care?
Sophie shared Andy’s story and Alex’s bond on TikTok. She shared the mission. She shared the heart. And within hours, the video went viral. Orders followed. Support poured in. And what began as a small fundraiser became something much bigger.

A full-time business owner, wife, and mom to a busy toddler and two beloved dogs, Sophie balances entrepreneurship with family life alongside her husband and best friend, who plays a vital role behind the scenes of the business.

Uncle Andy is the heart behind Alex And Andy. After a life-altering stroke, he relearned how to draw and write with his left hand after suffering right sided paralysis — transforming resilience into purpose. What began as recovery became a creative journey, and ultimately, a mission to inspire others.
Every design Andy creates and every handwritten note he includes reflects his deep belief in perseverance, compassion, and the power of creativity to heal and connect. His story reminds us that even when life takes an unexpected turn, meaning and beauty can still be created.
Fun fact: Uncle Andy makes the best homemade ice cream and is the world’s biggest IndyCar fan.
