Stroke Awareness: Learn It, Know It, Share It
Stroke Awareness Is Personal For Us
Stroke awareness isn’t just something we talk about in May for Stroke Awareness Month. It’s something we live every single day.
When Uncle Andy suffered a stroke, our world changed overnight. The right side of his body was paralyzed. He could no longer speak. He had to relearn basic tasks. He was told things might never be the same again. But here’s what they didn’t account for: his heart! His creativity and his determination to continue pushing forward.
Today, Uncle Andy draws every design for Alex And Andy with his left hand, the hand he had to train after his stroke. He writes thank you cards to customers and he shows up daily. That’s resilience!!
Why Stroke Awareness Matters
Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke. It can happen at any age. It can happen without warning.
Knowing the signs using the B.E. F.A.S.T. method can save a life:
- Balance issues
- Eyesight troubles
- Face drooping
- Arm weakness
- Speech difficulty
- Time to call 911
Awareness isn’t just education. It’s empowerment!
Our Stroke Awareness Shirt
This year, we launched our new stroke awareness shirt as a symbol of strength and hope.
It’s not just apparel. It’s a reminder that survival is powerful. That recovery can be messy. That progress looks different for everyone.
Every time someone wears this shirt, they are:
- Starting conversations
- Spreading awareness
- Supporting a real stroke survivor
- Choosing compassion over silence
Every order includes a hand written thank you card from Uncle Andy himself, proof that healing doesn’t mean the end of purpose.
Stroke changed our life. But it didn’t take away Andy’s creativity. If anything, it gave it a new mission!
