Mental Health Matters. Always!
Mental health isn’t just about diagnoses. It’s about how we’re coping. How we’re carrying stress. How we’re showing up for ourselves. Some days feel light. Some days feel heavy. Both are human.
At Alex And Andy, we believe mental health conversations should be normal, safe, and ongoing, not only when things feel unbearable, but also when things feel “fine.”
You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support. You don’t have to justify needing rest. You don’t have to explain why you’re struggling. Your feelings ARE valid.
If today feels hard, we want to remind you: You are not broken. You are not behind. You are not a burden. You are a person navigating life the best you can!
Small things that may help:
- Take a slow breath.
- Do the 5 step method. Find 5 things you can see. What are 4 things you can touch? What are three things you smell. Can you identify 2 things you can hear? What is 1 thing you can taste?
- Drink water.
- Step outside for a moment. Fresh air can do wonders!
- Text or call someone you trust
- Give yourself permission to rest. You deserve it.
Small steps still count. Here are some resources if you need support:
- 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
- National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
You matter more than you know. And you’re never alone here.
Much Love,
Uncle Andy and Sophie
